On June 1st and 2nd, we had the privilege of visiting the Pasternak House in Oxford for a private tour led by Ann Pasternak-Slater, granddaughter of the renowned Russian Impressionist Leonid Pasternak and niece of poet Boris Pasternak.
The tour offered an intimate glimpse into Leonid Pasternak’s life and work, showcasing his portraits of cultural luminaries such as Tolstoy, Rilke, and Rachmaninov, as well as his charming family sketches. Attendees explored the gallery and learned about Pasternak’s European influences, his friendships with leading artists and thinkers, and his final years in Oxford, where he passed away in 1945.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for this unique celebration of Pasternak’s artistic legacy!
