Что? Где? Когда?
The What? Where? When? (Что? Где? Когда?) game is a popular intellectual quiz originating from Russia, where it has captivated audiences for decades. Blending trivia with critical thinking, the game requires teams to solve complex, often creatively posed questions within a limited time — usually one minute per question.
In a typical What? Where? When? game, a team of six players works collaboratively to answer questions that require lateral thinking, erudition, and a touch of intuition. Unlike standard quizzes, questions here are designed to challenge participants to think outside the box rather than relying on rote memory. The goal is not just to find the answer but to deduce it through logical reasoning.
What? Where? When? in Oxford
Each week during term time, we host a What? Where? When? session, bringing together enthusiasts from across Oxford University and beyond. These gatherings are a staple for those who enjoy an intellectual challenge and the excitement of collaborative problem-solving.
The Oxford What? Where? When? team, known as Oxford Comma or Оксфордская кома, is closely affiliated with the Oxford New Russian Society. Many members participate in both the game sessions and society events, fostering a strong sense of camaraderie and cultural exchange within Oxford's Russian-speaking community. Annually, we compete in the International What? Where? When? Tournament in London.
Whether you’re an experienced player or just curious to see what it’s all about, all are welcome to join the game each week.
