Every year on October 29, people around the world gather to take part in Returning the Names - an annual act of remembrance for the victims of Soviet State Terror.
During the event, participants read aloud the names of those who were killed, executed, or imprisoned under the regime. It’s a simple but powerful way to keep their memory alive and to stand against forgetting.
Together with the Oxford University Polish Society @oxpolsoc, we’ll be holding a Returning the Names gathering here in Oxford.
Everyone is welcome to join, you can also bring and read the names of your own family members or others you wish to commemorate.
Let’s come together in quiet remembrance.
