The Russian and East European Studies (REES) programme at Oxford University, with the support of the Russian and Eurasian Studies Centre at St Antony’s College, plays a key role in fostering a vibrant, intellectually engaging environment for those interested in Russian culture, history, and current affairs. Both REES and RESC are important partners of the Oxford New Russian Society.
The REES programme offers a wide array of academic resources, including public lectures, special events, and access to expert faculty specialising in Russian and Eastern European politics, literature, and history. This helps the New Russian Society develop programming that is both rich in academic depth and accessible to a wider audience. In turn, the Society provides REES students with valuable opportunities to engage in discussions and cultural exchanges beyond the classroom.
REES and RESC also offer logistical support for events hosted by the ONRS, such as guest lectures, film screenings, and cultural performances.
We at the Oxford New Russian Society are particularly grateful to Prof Michael Rochlitz from REES and Richard Ramage from RESC for their help in administrative matters and promoting our events.
