On Thursday, 29th February, we held a screening of “Navalny” — a powerful documentary offering an intimate and moving account of Alexei Navalny’s life, activism, and his courageous defiance of Putin’s regime. The film honoured Navalny’s legacy following his tragic killing and highlighted the indomitable spirit of Russians who continue to resist growing political repression.
Following the screening, we were privileged to host Dan Storyev, Managing Editor of OVD-Info, an NGO providing critical support to political prisoners in Russia. Dan shared essential insights into the current landscape of political imprisonment, offering attendees a deeper understanding of the escalating crisis and ways to support those fighting for justice and freedom.
The event was more than just a film screening; it was a moving tribute to Navalny’s memory, a call to action, and an opportunity to reflect on the courage of those standing up to oppression. We thank everyone who joined us to honour Navalny’s legacy and learn how to contribute to the ongoing fight against injustice.
Organised with support from the Russian and Eurasian Studies Centre.
